My Boss

17:30 Apr 29 2008
Times Read: 696

is a COMPLETE and UTTER c**t. I have NEVER asked for anything from him, ever. No days off, no shift swaps, NOTHING. In the six months I've worked there. And I'm the ONLY one who will do overtime for him. Not ANY-FUCKING MORE!!!!!!

I've not seen my aunty and cousins properly in a long, long time, since they moved halfway up the country. I miss them SO much. After hearing that mum might be going up at the weekend, she said why not re-arrange your saturday shift and come up too?

Just called to ask. No. We're "short staffed" and can't afford any shift swaps. Aparrently. But it's fine to let every other fucker who works there, and calls in sick, and has already HAD their holidays to have shift swaps and time off. You are a TOTAL FUCKING ASSHAT ANDY! I'll never forgive you for this......and I'll remember it the next time you need someone to come in and do overtime for you. Wanker.

I may just come down with a cold over the weekend, and end up not working. It'd serve you right, you bastard.

General Me.

16:33 Apr 29 2008
Times Read: 698

Ok. Here's the lo-down on what I've been doing for the past few days. I'm sure it's really very boring, but I can't think of anything else to write about.

Weekend- Work. Ergh. 'Nuff said. Sunday my dad and I went to Bradgate Park :) it's beautiful. I'll try and put up some pictures off the net for ya. I also have some on my mobile too, but I'm not quite sure how to sync it to my pc, or how to turn ON the bluetooth on my pc. 0.o I am NOT technically gifted.

Monday- Jobcentre. Blah. I totally give up with those people. Apart from the fact every person I see there (the advisors) look like they should be on prozac, (yep, they're THAT happy) they keep screwing me over. I thought everything was fine n dandy with my claim. I'd filled out all the forms, done what I needed to do. But then-this....thiswhelp of a man (yeah whelp.....couldn't think of anything else to put and it sounds funny. And, like most whelps, he makes me want to hit him with a blunt object) told me, in order to keep track of my part-time job (the hours I work, and what I get paid), and to incorporate that info into my claim, they would need to photocopy my payslips. As I didn't have them with me (obviously) he said he couldn't sign me on. My heart stopped. I was like.....you're joking, right? you HAVE to be joking!

Him: No. Why? (snooty voice)

Me: (ice cold voice) Well......Ahmed......if you'd check my file, you'll see that I've had my job since last October, have been getting my JSA money since last October, and have NEVER been asked to submit my payslips before. Not one single person I've seen here has asked me for them. The sheets I fill out with my hours worked on them were sufficient enough for them!

Him: Really? (less snooty voice)

Me: Yep. (By this time I wasn't blinking, I was that mad)

*Ahmed gets up quietly and goes over to a manager, whilst smoke comes out of Crow's nose.*

Him: "Ok, I can sign you on today after all. And if you could bring in your payslips some other time in the week, that'd be great, Tomorrow be ok?."

Me: Yep, fine. Twelve o'clock.

I signed and left.

Today- Went BACK there. Yeah, I know. But I wanted the whole thing sorted out. First thing I saw was a bloke having a piss up the wall. Ewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!! In BROAD daylight and in FULL VIEW of the public!!!!! w......t.......f???????

Anywho, upon going in there, I found out I wasn't scheduled for an appointment that Ahmed was supposed to have set up for me. But thankfully someone took pity on me and the whole thing was done n dusted by five past twelve. Oh yah. Score for Crow. :)

Now- I'll probably do another entry later, with more interesting stuff in it. I just wanted to get my *yelling* one out of the way first. :)

I feel like I should be outside somewhere, sitting on the grass, enjoying the sun on my face, talking to my friends. Except every single one of the f*****s has gone off to Uni, so I'm all alone. *sigh*. Ah well. I'll just change the plan to go outside, sit on the grass, enjoy the sun, watch my cats trying to catch butterflies and the occasional bee. :) That is also a nice time.

The Past Few Days

11:08 Apr 23 2008
Times Read: 730

Well, I'm back :) Don't worry, I didn't fall down a well or anything. I've just been a busy Crow. As I feel slightly guilty for not being on for....*thinks*....four-ish days, this is going to be a bumper journal entry. So, sit back, relax, and grab a coffee. :)

First off, my interview. I was kinda nervous in the morning. Mum dropped me off at my Nanna's house. (There's a bus I can get from there directly to the hospital). Nanna and Aunt Colleen were wonderful. They encouraged me, made me feel good about myself. And force fed me some toast ;) My appetite had disappeared. I did, however, look like a school teacher. 0.o. Black pencil skirt, high heels, white top with pale pink sleeveless jumper. Yeah. It's like mum said: "You look lovely, but you don't look like you". ;)

When I got to the hospital, I was a bag of nerves. There was me and four others going for the same job. But then, all my nerves disappeared. I just felt confident. First, we got taken on a tour of the lab, and one of the interviewers explained what we'd be doing in there if we got the job. Yes, I got to wear a labcoat. *NCIS scenario's a-plenty* Then we got a lunch break, and our individual interviews. I think mine went well. They didn't ask any technical questions. They wanted to find the right person. They asked about my qualifications, my hobbies, and interests etc. At one point we were all saying how good Jane Austen's books were. :)

Now, I'm just waiting to see if I got it or not.

Next subject- Saturday. It was one pig of a day, lemme tell ya. For some reason, I kept getting ALL the idiots. I think one of my friends, well, my only work friend, James, sensed I was going to try and hurt them, so he stayed on the tills with me and distracted me and made me laugh. :) I was really tired by the end of my shift. But then he reminded me we were all going bowling. I didn't want to go. I have very vivid memories of childhood birthday parties there. Mainly of me hiding in the toilets until it was all over. In the end, he pursuaded me to go.

It was kinda ok. I kept getting half strikes, somehow. Both of us didn't approve of the music choice, so I slipped in some good music. ;) They have a music video machine, which allows you to choose what songs you want on, and then plays the song and video to the whole place.

Half an hour of Girls Aloud, Kanye West, and Lord knows what else made me tetchy, and want revenge. So they got: System of A Down, Marilyn Manson, and Nirvana. :) heh. At the end of the night, I was so tired I couldn't even write up on here what happened.

Next thing- Dad bought me The Quest, by Wilbur Smith. :D I was SO happy. Taita is my favorite character, and I'd been waiting ages to find out what happened next to him. So, when Dad game me the book, and I saw it went on from Warlock....well. High pitched happy squeaking noises a-plenty. :) I spent most of Sunday reading it, and I was settling down to read more on Monday, but I got called into work for six hours, and by the end of my shift, I could barely talk in English, let alone type, or read.

Yesterday- The phone woke me up at eight thirty. I didn't answer it. Hit number re-dial, and work had called me. I thought, screw you guys. So I didn't call back. Instead, I finished reading The Quest, and did all the little jobs mum wanted me to do. And I also thought up something to write. I've not written a story in ages, and I'm really excited I've got my brain fired up about it. I'm a lil' rusty, but I'l get the hang of it again. :)

And that's all. I think. Right now, I'm going to post this, and get myself a nice, hot cup of coffee, and come back and see if any of you have commented ;)

My uncle called me earlier to tell me he's got Guitar Hero 3 for the wii. :D We had a go on it when my cousins were here (they brought their copy with them) and decided it was a must have. So, safe to say I'll be going to nanna's tomorrow to play on it. Oh, and he said *It comes with stickers, so I'll let you decorate it* :D yaaaaay stickers! 0.o

I need to go into town to get the bus to nanna's house. Bout an hour and a half journey in total. But, while I'm in town, I can return the dress that makes me look like I'm expecting and go drool over the loligoth shoes :)

On a funny note- I went up to the little corner store earlier to get some cigarettes, cat food, jobs paper etc etc. I put on my jeans, trainers, random slogan tee, long black coat, fingerless gloves, beanie hat and eyeliner. I kept thinking.....This whole look reminds me of someone famous.......who?.......then it hit me. Ville Valo in the video for The Sacrament. Yeah........looked like a dude.......pretty dude......but still a dude............

The VDB

17:00 Apr 07 2008
Times Read: 840

Much as we might love or loathe the VDB, it's there for a reason. It's the basis of what Vampire Rave is. Without it, what would VR be?

The VDB is there to educate us and help us. You never know what you'll find in there. You should respect all the people who helped build it, the people that spent hours trawling the 'net to find interesting things to put in there for us all to see.

That brings me onto my next point. Why would you stamp it? Especially with something saying: "I rated your profile a ten, please feel free to return the favor." Is it just a reflex action? can't you be bothered to write something? Or, like me, just don't comment? I mean, I know I rated it, and that's what counts. I suppose, for those of you that will say "Hey, I'm a premmie, and I paid to use the stamping feature, so I'll stamp what I like!" this poses a bit of a problem.

See, stamping it with you profile stamp makes you look just a tad silly. I mean, it can't rate you back, can it? And I know this has annoyed some members who have taken the time out to slog their way through it, checking it and adding to it.

So, my suggestion, is that if you abseloutely, positively have to stamp the database, then why not make a little custom stamp specifically for the database? It'd only take a couple of minutes to copy and paste the different codes safely into a word document, so you can switch as and when you need to.

Also, I just want to say, this is my opinion, and I'm allowed it. You are allowed yours too, so if you don't agree with something I've said, please do put your point across. I'm interested in learning other peoples opinions on this matter. And maybe some of you can educate me more about it, who knows?

That's a good suggestion.

Like I said on another Journals (heh it seems this is the most topic discussed on VR lately) that a similar issue was discussed about 2 years ago, about the Members Article, some felt offended to have their article stamped and there was a thread about it.

Cancer have spoken and I beleive he said that the problem is not with the stamps but the way they get used and he proposed a suggestion like yours.

Ultimately, even though the stamps have been a feature for about 2 years, people are mentioning this issue about the VDB only lately, I have mentioned it before, because I see it as ridicolous to stamp it with: ''I have rated your Profile'', stamp..

crowgirl
crowgirl
17:18 Apr 07 2008

:) Thanks.

I remember the thing about the members articles too. I just thought I'd put in my two cents worth on this topic aswell, seeing as everyone is going on about it.

I suppose, if you have made the time and effort to write an article, or make a database entry, it is insulting in a way for someone to stamp it with *i've rated your profile* It seems that the person has done it to level up quickly, and didn't take the time to read what you wrote, and leave a *unique comment* about it. I don't have a problem with stamps, just the way they are used for the database. I mean, how hard can it be to mess about on paint for a while to make another stamp? Or just don't stamp at all.

xxEmaeraldxx
xxEmaeraldxx
22:28 Apr 07 2008

Well one thing I know about the Vampire Data Base, is that I once entered hundreds of items there and yes, it did take a lot of a time but it was something I gave willingly to VR. At first we didn't have stamps, but when they came....well being a Procurator at first I was offended because of the research time I put in, but I realised it wasn't about me, and so I didn't take it personaly when people stamped.

People continue to stamp, and always will because it is an allowed option to do so, and its handy because after all who does sit and read every word the Procurator puts up there? Would you ever get out of there if you did?

Now, Members articles isn't really in essence any different from a submitted research on a subject, or a brief on a book for instance, and noone but a few takes the time to read them word-for-word. We know who does 'tho because they leave orginial comments that mean something.

I really think the point is moot, and it boils down to if you are allowed to do something then why bother wasting energy and emotion objecting to it.

People's priorities on the Rave is to rate and grow in status as quick as they can, that is the essence of the addictiviness (sp) on here..

Ok. Fixed the pictures and divider bars in my profile that got lost when VR crashed. I added a couple of things to the additional pictures section too, and one or two things to my profile. I need to know how to get a navigation box into my profile. I need the code for it. Anyone help a Crow out?

I got loads and loads of ideas for things to put in there. I can't keep adding to my original profile, otherwise it'll go on forever. lol.

Should be cleaning.

Don't want to.

Have to.

No!.

Yes!

Ah, alright.

Good Crow.

Then you can rate the new database entries, and update your status.

Awww.....jeez......

Damn well do it!

God my brain is mean to me ;)

Just figured out I'll have to go through every single page of the database to find the new entries, unless they're automatically shown on the first page. Oooh fun. That reminds me, I have an entry to write about the VDB later on, when I have everything sorted out.

Now, I know right from the start of this entry, I won't be able to word it as I want to. It won't be eloquent enough, or put my feelings exactly how I want them. But, oh well! ;)

Also, I was half undressed and getting into my P.J.'s when you called. I don't mind though. ;)

I can't remember ANYTHING about what we talked about. Except for the kettle going off, and me asking *where the hell are you??* and you replying *the kitchen. You see you need hot water to make a drink* :P

You don't know how hard it was for me to accept that call. My brain kept screaming *arrrrgggggghhhh!* at me. But, I "bit the bullet" and did it. And I'm so glad I did. It was wonderful to hear your voice, and actually speak to you :) I think I was ok......I wasn't silent for too long, was I? ;) Also, I'm sorry Serj had to cancel because he was ill. But, not that sorry, coz you'll be at download, and I'll be on holiday, so fair is fair. ;)

But, in a way, we should thank Serj, because, without that gig, I wouldn't have texted you, and the best phone conversation I've ever had wouldn't have happened. :)

Jet - Set Crow?

14:26 Apr 04 2008
Times Read: 871

So, me and mum are hoping to go on holiday again this year. We’ve been going to the same place with my cousins and her sister and husband for the past two years. It’s so nice to go somewhere with the family. And then to see said members of family totally schnokered, and store that memory for bribes later on. ;)

This means I have to go and ask my boss (who is an asshat, at the best of times) if I can have the time off. I know I’ve got holiday booked, but I don’t know the exact dates. If it’s when we want to go, then great. If not I’ll have to ask if I can move the days if possible. I’ll only have to move about four days, because I currently only work Fridays and Saturdays. Bu-ut depending on when the flight back is on the Friday (we go on a Friday, and come back on a Friday) I might be able to work the Saturday, so that’ll make him happy. I won’t be. Jetlag and little sleep turns me into Mrs. Vlad Tepes with PMS. ;)

And if I can’t do that, I’ll have to ask for someone to cover my shifts, and I’ll do the hours before I go, so I don’t lose any money. Phew. Hopefully it’ll work out. We want to go on the 13th of June, so it’s a good couple of months away yet. Oh. Holy. Crap. Thirteenth of June. On a FRIDAY. I’LL BE ON A PLANE ON FRIDAY THE FUCKIN THIRTEENTH! 0.o

I’m going to push super hard for me to go. And I do have a stonker of a card up my sleeve. You see, my cousin George was due to have his first Holy Communion, but it fell into the dates of when we’re going on holiday, and his mum has already booked it. Their priest suggested, well, instead of cutting the holiday short, why not have it out there in Spain? The church they went to there is beautiful apparently, and they make a real fuss of the kids too, when it’s their first holy communion. I think that would be absolutely fantastic. Can you imagine that? Having his communion, and then going to the beach and jumping in the sea? *sigh* So……that’s my excuse. I have to be there. I’d be so upset if I couldn’t go. It’s a really big thing for them, and I’m so excited for George :D

Oh, and, just to tease ya’ll, and make me have a bit of gumption to ask my boss, and save money, here’s some pics of where we stay:

Text here in the ALT code will be displayed when you hover over the image.

Text here in the ALT code will be displayed when you hover over the image.

My Cousins

17:20 Apr 03 2008
Times Read: 881

I'm really excited about my cousins coming to stay. :) I'm sure they're excited too- they get a day off from school. ;)

I've missed them so much since they had to move back upto Lancashire. We don't see them nearly as often as we did when they lived in Queniborough. When they lived there it was a simple half hour car journey. Now, it's two and a half to three hours. They do enjoy being back there though. All their old friends, going to their old school. In their old house. So the transition wasn't difficult for them.

I haven't seen them for about a month and change. Mum went up not long ago with her friend, and they asked where Becky was. Bless 'em, they missed me. :)

Below is a piccy of me with them, in January last year.

It happens to me too, it's not always easy to write thoughts and express them without being misunderstood.

That's what I'm worried about. Well, not exactly worried, but you get the idea. lol. It's like, if I say it this way it could mean something totally different from what I'm actually trying to get across. That, and I'm not eloquent enough ;)

And look, I just did it..........that sounded waaaaay better in my head. haha.

My Plan

16:52 Apr 02 2008
Times Read: 902

Ok. I have a game plan for cleaning my room. Mum reckons it's reminiscent of Iraq. 0.o It's not that bad, really. I have a craptacular amount of stuff shoved under my bed and dresser she wants me to sort out. If I had more storage space, it wouldn't be a problem. I was supposed to have some shelves put up, but she got 'em instead. lol.

So, I will:

1. Coffee up- need that lovely buzz to get me through it.

2. Put the music I just downloaded onto my Ipod so I can listen to it. Slipknot and t.A.T.u's russian songs- go figure :P

3. Find other places to put my junk lol.

4. Hope to have it done before she comes home.

5. Think of something interesting to put in this damn thing!!!

Crow Edit: Ok, that went alright. Only took me half an hour. I decided to clear out under my dresser and wadrobe too. My immediate thought was " Holy Shit I have alot of books!" Almost all of the stuff (minus a couple of dust bunnies, the odd sock, crime scene tape and a top I hadn't worn in two years) was books. I'd guesstimate there's a pile of fifteen, sixteen. So, they all need to be shelved again. Infact, my whole bookcase needs to be re-organized. It's pretty much stuffed full right now, and that's not counting the books I have stored in my wadrobe, or the ones in binliners *sobs* in the shed I meant to throw out months ago (because I never read them), but never got round to doing it.

Right now, I'm about to go through my old school folder I found. See what work I want to keep, and what I want to throw away. I'm sure it'll bring up some mixed emotions.

Baby Talk

Times Read: 904

As some of you know, I've been teaching my baby cousin Lila May, how to say some of my favourite words. Like Serj and Tankian ;) This is the conversation we had on sunday:

Me: Lila, who lives in Beck-Beck's pocket?

Lila May: Sershhh.

Me: Good girl! What's his whole name?

Lila May: Sershhh Tankh...Ta....tatatata!

Me: Ok, maybe we don't tell him his last name is reminiscent of a machine gun going off, according to you.

Lila May: *blink*

Lila May: *pulls on my pocket*

Me: What? what is it munchkin?

Lila May: (loudly) Sershhhh! Sershhhh Tankeee! NOW!

Me: (under my breath) Oh why the hell did I have to show her the picture of him on my Ipod???

.......five minutes later.......

Me: Can we stop looking now? Beck-Beck's tired.

Lila May: No.

Kids....gotta love 'em. :)

Oky Doky. Back from work :D immediate plans are for coffee and super noodles. :P god I love those! Then, try to sort out my portfolio. I might have to do a system recall, because apparently I don't have microsoft paint anymore 0.o

After that, I wanna find out where to get the code for a navigation box for my profile. Thought of some good stuff to put in it. And I also need to move the music player down to the music section in my profile too.

Oh, and I have to superdy duper clean my room. Apparently, my auntie and her sons (my lil cousins) are coming down from Lancashire, and are going to be staying over Thursday night. The boys are supposed to be sleeping on my floor. 0.o

I don't have alot of floor space. Just about enough for my bed, dresser, bookcase, 2 wadrobes. That's it. And I'm very, very, very particular about people touching my stuff. Which I know my cousins will do. I love them, but if anyone touches MY things.....they run away pretty damn fast quite quickly after seeing me.

This should be interesting.

Tomorrow's Game Plan

00:18 Apr 02 2008
Times Read: 909

I decided to write this now, as I wouldn't have time tomorrow morning. I have work nine to twelve. Only three hours thank the goddess. Apparently my manager can't contract out more hours because of budgets. Awwwww shucks. He's an asshat.

All I care about is saving up enough money to pay for my holiday with momma this year. She says she doesn't have enough for both of us, so I'll have to get some. We're trying to convince my nanna and great aunt to come with us. :D

me to them: *oh it's beautiful! all the flowers.....*looks at mum who nods frantically, doing a "carry on" gesture* Eh......there's a nature reserve thingy, and the whole coast is a protected wildlife zone, so no building on it ever. Oh, and the appartments have turtles. And little birds that nick your toast.* Heh. It should be interesting. They've never travelled by plane before. Ever.

I'll just teach them my phrase which I hold dear to:

*I'm not afraid of flying, I'm afraid of crashing*

.........just thought...........Nanna and Auntie Colleen gonna see me d-r-unk! 0.o..........oh ye gods..........never mind me.......Im'a see them drunk! they're a menace where whiskey and orange squash is involved. ;) I wuvs dem.

Can cleaning be fun?

17:20 Apr 01 2008
Times Read: 927

Surely not! I hear you cry. But, actually, yes is can be fun. And yes, I am copyrighting this idea to myself. So, to get your house a' sparklin' AND have fun at the same time, here is what to do:

© CSI CLEANING GAME ©

The title says it all. First, make a check-list of your *kit* Make sure you have eveything you need.

Now, this is the idea. You are the new member of the CSI team, asnd you've been assigned to clean up a staged crime scene to test your skills. You have to do your best because, after all, only the best will do for Mr. Gil Grissom. ;)

Then, just go around your house, room by room, and clean them. Think like a CSI would do. Did you check the corners of the floor? Clean the mirror? Is it CSI clean? Did you miss anything? That sort of thing.

You'll have it done in no time at all, and the result will be a house tidier than Bree Van DeKamp's.

Or you calling the nearest mental institution to see if there's an avalible space for me. :)

I did find it worked well for me. I really hate cleaning stuff. I avoid it at all costs. But this made it kinda fun. If you concentrate hard, you'll notice stuff you never usually do when you're cleaning.

Anyway......lemme know how it goes, if you decide to try it. It works well with kids too. I did it with my cousins when they had to tidy their room. :)

Oh, and listening to The Who is reccomended ;)

E-mailed mum to see what jobs need doing 'round the house. Floors, stairs and my bedroom. And I gotta call work and ask for more hours. I really, really don't want to. I abseloutely HATE that job. I feel like it's crushing me, chipping away at me and soon there will be nothing left. But if it'll help mum, then I suppose I'll have to.

All I want to do is sleep.Maybe pause time so I can drift off for as long as I need to. Trying to make my lump of a body move is impossible. It just feels slow and heavy.

*sigh* I know I have it pretty easy, and shouldn't really be complaining. But............I just.......felt like I needed to.

Well, made a music player for my profile. I think it's nifty, though the different artists on there WILL confirm my crazy status ;)

I want food. Don't know what yet. Uhmmmmm.........*blinks* nothing else to report. I'm sure there was something, but it's gone *poof*. Oh yeah, and my shoes I got, people who read this journal wil be aware of a lil problem I had with a pair of shoes I have a while ago, but the new ones are HEAVEN. I can walk in them, AND they're comfy too!

Never mind that by keeping them I'm not allowed beer for a month. 0.o The pretty overrides the beer. I think. I'm still trying to get a pic up of them, but I think my cordless mouse has finally said buh-bye to it's battery life. *sniff*

I'm sure I'll have some more random crap to put in here soon.

Tryin' to figure out what I'm going to do today. I have to get those t.A.T.u video's back up. I didn't delete the entry, I think it must have been something to do with VR crashing the other day.

Uhm...apart from that, cleaning stuff, and maybe going on The Sims 2. Thinking up some good stuff for that.

Town was ok yesterday. Signing on went alright. I think I got the newbie though. He was so slow at everything. And not at all enthusiastic. I felt like saying *Dude, could you please try to sound more interested? And less like you're reading the back of a cereal box?*

Well, anyway. I got a dress thingy for my interview, which I'm going to return. It makes me look like I'm pregnant. I was abseloutely terrified when I had to go into the *normal* shops. I had to psyche myself up lol. Then I just wandered about looking non-plussed and frowning alot.

I survived that, and to cheer myself up, I went into a wonderful Goth shop called Haze.

And then,

I saw them.

The shoes.

PRETTY SHOES.

My mind said *MUST BUY!.......who gives a crap if they cost £35???? BUY the GODDAMN shoes woman!!!! NOW!!!*

So I did. :D I'll take a pic of them soon.

I am SUCH a girl. Never to be trusted with a credit card. Ever.
